PREPARING YOUTH FOR
SUCCESSFUL LIVING
As
the old African Proverb says “It takes a village to raise a child.” Trinity's Learning Resource Center along with
Skyway Church of the West Valley, Trinity Debt Management Services, and members
of the community are working together to equip the youth and young adults of
the West Valley ages 8-13 with the life skills that are needful to guarantee
their success and has opened enrollment for its 2008 session of Trinity’s “Basic
Life Skills for Success” and its “Life Skills, Life Planning & Preparation
and Financial Management” Programs.
These programs are preparing and equipping youth to be successful in all
areas of living: starting out with “First things First”, how our attitudes
shape our lives and determines our future; Discovering where they are now and
where they want to go; getting organized from the bedroom to Backpack; How to
prepare for and pass tests every time; Developing Communication Skills/Social
Skills (how courtesy and teamwork determines how successful you will be as a
family, in school, and on the job); Courtesy verses Disobedience; the
importance of Personal Hygiene, Health & Nutrition; How to organize your
space and time that will enable you to get more done, quicker, and in peace; How
to shop for the best deals; How Money Works; Understanding Mutual Funds, IRA’s
& Money Market Accounts; How to plan and prepare for a job interview,
resume preparation, and how to prepare for and to reach your life goals; Bad
Credit verses Good Credit; Jobs for Kids; Gang Awareness; CPR / First Aid, and
more…
Equipping and
preparing our children and youth in a highly competitive society is a must, and
in order to fully equip and prepare them, as parents, we must recognize our
responsibility to get them the help they need.
You can further guarantee your children’s success by participating in our
12 week parent/coaching workshops that are assisting parents to “Raise
Successful Youth to Become Successful Adults”. While your youth are learning vital life skills that will ensure
their success with you, as their parents, success in school with their
instructors and peers, success in their communities through contribution, and
success in their finances understanding debt and credit, you have the
opportunity to learn and understand the most needful skills and strategies for
being a successful parent in today’s turbulent society!
Trinity is accepting pre-registration for it’s 2008 enrollment which runs for six months, meeting once a week, for 1-1/2 hours each week on Friday evenings at Skyway Church of the West Valley. Participants graduate in June and are especially recognized for their accomplishments at a formal graduation banquet. Parent Orientation attendance is required for enrollment.
